The Palm Islands is also called Palm Dubai or simply The Palms. This one is the largest island made by the hand of the man.
Al Nakheel Properties has been responsible for creating this. There, you can find a big number of residential areas. In May 2002 they first announced that they wish to build it. It is made of two artificial islands shaped like a palm tree. This interesting island has raised the curiosity of many tourists. There are some people that have called it ‘The Eighth Wonder of the World’.
The two islands are called Palm Jebel Ali and Palm Jumeirah. In total, the islands will be able to host 4,000 exclusive villas, around 60 luxury hotels, some 1,000 water homes, water parks, malls, spas, cinemas and restaurants.
The Palm, Jumeirah
This island will be a retreat and also a residential area. People will be able to live there on daily based. Many villas will find a place there. The project also includes boutique hotels and apartments.
The villas will be of three types: Garden Homes, Signature Villas and Town Homes. The construction of this palm has begun in 2001 and now it is over.
The Palm, Jebel Ali
Jebel Ali is an entertainment destination. Adults and kids can go there and find many things to do. It is suitable for the tourists but also for the residents. This island is also larger than the Palm Jumeirah and has six marinas. The island also includes the ‘Sea Village’, a great water park and some water houses. Its construction begun in October 2002 and was finished at the end of 2007.
